ABOUT US

Real Experience. Real Inclusion. Real Change.

At AbilityWise, we believe that true inclusion starts with understanding, and understanding is best taught by those who live it every day.

Founded by Deirdre O’Grady, AbilityWise is one of the most accredited providers of Disability Equality and Inclusion Training in Ireland.

What makes us different? Every course we offer is designed and delivered by people who have a disability themselves, bringing lived experience and insight to every session.

Deirdre O’Grady – Founder of AbilityWise

Meet Deirdre O’Grady

Deirdre brings over 20 years of experience working in healthcare, supporting people with a wide range of disabilities and abilities. Her qualifications reflect her deep commitment to this work:

  • First Class Honours in Higher Diploma: Facilitating Inclusion in Disabilities (UCC)
  • Diploma in Disability Studies
  • Diploma in Psychology
  • Certificate in Irish Sign Language
  • Certificate in Mental Health in the Community

But her most powerful knowledge comes from life itself. Deirdre lives with Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, a rare congenital condition, as well as severe osteoarthritis. She’s also a parent to two neurodivergent children with autism, ADHD, and Ehlers Danlos Syndrome.

This mix of professional expertise and personal insight shapes every aspect of AbilityWise’s work — from the way we design our training, to the way we connect with people and organisations.

Why We Do What We Do

Our mission is simple: to help workplaces, schools and communities become more inclusive, informed, and empowered.

We know that one-size-fits-all doesn’t work — so we tailor our training to meet you where you are, and guide you forward with empathy, clarity, and lived experience.

Whether you’re looking for Disability and Inclusion Training, Neurodiversity Training, or guidance on making your organisation more accessible, AbilityWise is here to help.
