Deirdre
Deirdre O’ Grady is the founder of AbilityWise.
Deirdre is a graduate of UCC and has obtained a First Class Honours in her Higher Diploma, Facilitating Inclusion in Disabilities. She also has a diploma in Disability Studies as well as a diploma in psychology and a certificate in Irish Sign Language.
With over 20 years’ experience working in healthcare, Deirdre has worked extensively with people who have various disabilities and abilities.
With a passion for providing disability awareness, Deirdre’s experience stems from both professional and personal experience. Deirdre has a rare congenital disorder called Ehlers Danlos Syndrome and severe osteoarthritis. She is also a parent to two children who have autism and ADHD and who also have Ehlers Danlos Syndrome.
Kerri
Kerri O' Sullivan is a graduate of UCC where she obtained an Arts degree, majoring in sociology and minoring in Psychology.
She is currently studying for a Masters in Criminology and has a particular interest in those with disabilities within the justice system.
Kerri has experience working with various abilities and disabilities and has personal experience of having a disability. Having Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, as well as Ehlers Danlos Syndrome and Dysautonomia, Kerri has first hand knowledge of working and studying while navigating her own experiences with chronic disabilities.
